Current Projects
Current projects refers to any currently ongoing attempt to complete a project from inseption to pre-production to production. These projects are “public” in the sense that there are no Non-Disclosure Agreements in place to protect the Product Identity and concept of a sensitive project.
There are a handful of “private” projects that are sitting in a conceptual stage or an early-development stage. Private projects that get further along in the pre-production stages will be summarized on this page as well. Projects are considered to be in pre-production when a financial commitment has been made, other collaborators have been contracted to complete work that is part of the completed project, and there are no privacy agreements between the parties involved concerning the specific project.
Raven Nevermore Comic Series
This project is a series of four standard 22-page comics that take place in the World of Hellmouth but follow the point-of-view of a particular character: Corvan Moore. The first four issues of the series detail his origin story and what makes him become who he becomes.
The series artist is Emmanuel Xerx Javier and it is written by me. Colors are done by Axel Rator. Letters are done by Thomas Mauer. Sample pages and the cover can be found on this blog if you search for the working title.
- The first issue is completed but not released.
- The second issue is written and art is done. Currently with colorist, then letterer.
- The third issue is being penciled/inked.
- The four issues comprising of the “origin story” are scripted.
- There are approximately 18-22 issues plotted.
This is currently set for self-publishing but will be pitched to other comic publishers throughout the year.
The Beholder Series Comic Strip Shorts
This project is a young one and one that happened by accident. It offers a window into the World of Hellmouth and its people. It is a half-standard-page comic strip meant for publications. Each short comic focuses on the theme of the magazine it is in. It is written by Nuno Teixeira and illustrated by Emmanuel Xerx Javier.
It got its launch in Blueprint Magazine’s September issue revolving around “Death”. It will attempt to be an ongoing submission in Blueprint for as long as possible. It will also look for other opportunities to make unique appearances within other periodicals in the future. The below list will highlight where the Beholder Series has or will appear.
- Blueprint Magazine, September 2009, “Death” Issue: Read the strip
- Blueprint Magazine, October 2009, “Sexuality” Issue: Read the strip
- Blueprint Magazine, November 2009, “Food” Issue: Read the strip
- Blueprint Magazine, January 2010, “Love” Issue: Read the strip
- Blueprint Magazine, February 2010, “Patriotism” Issue: Read the strip
- Blueprint Magazine, March 2010, “Roots” Issue: Coming Soon!
The World of Hellmouth: Twisted Tales, Vol 1
The current collective project that is in pre-production is a short story compilation made up of thirteen stories, written by thirteen authors. These short stories will take place in the different areas of the World of Hellmouth. All short stories will be editorially guided to ensure consistency and quality. Details such as names, places, events, etc. may be recommended or suggested when appropriate. Authors will be encouraged to request details about world details required for the telling of their tales.
All stories will be presented as written by the author. There is no intention of ever requiring or publishing “ghost writer” works. Each author will also be free to release their tale online for free by following the Creative Commons rules detailed below.
All content will be owned by XEI Books and names, people, places, locations, etc will also be considered Product Identity once a short story is approved and a contract between parties is signed–this is to ensure the protection of the Product Identity with Non-Disclosure Agreements.
Content submitted will also enter a Creative Commons License once the book is published and released on the market. The CC-License will be designated “By Attribution – Share Alike – Non-Commercial”; this means once the stories are published they can be shared freely online or otherwise as long as they are not being sold and as long as proper attributions are given to “The World of Hellmouth” and “XEI Books”.
This project is still accepting short story submissions. Please refer to the below information if this interests you!
Requests are currently closed for art submissions for any private projects. Feel free to still send portfolio site through my contact link, but please don’t expect any replies at this time. Thanks!
